GARAGE CONVERSION ANNEXE | BARROW-UPON-SOAR
The Brief:

My client, a young woman in her 20s, was moving back to her family home following a spell living and working in London. With numerous siblings, additional space needed to be made in the house so the integrated garage was designated as a space to convert. From this relatively small space (the equivalent of a double garage, my brief was to plan and create concepts for a space which comprised sleeping area, work space, small kitchenette, sufficient wardrobe space for an extensive collection of clothes and shoes and en-suite shower room.
As the builder was already engaged and due to start imminently, this project had a fast start and quick turnaround.

Layout was a really critical element to this project as we had a lot to fit into a small space and it still needed to feel comfortable and spacious.
We settled on an cool and calm scheme which made the most of existing furniture and kept the space feeling open and airy.




The walk in wardrobe was an absolute triumph and a real added bonus. Knowing my clients passion for fashion, I wanted to ensure she had a suitable space for housing her 'collection'. With clever configuration, we squeezed in a modestly sized walk in wardrobe alongside the en-suite. We kitted it out with Ikea Pax wardrobes for maximum flexibility, and ultimately, affordability.
